Dr. Friend Bechtel grew up in a large family that emphasized honesty and hard work. He received his Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Chemistry and Spanish from Asbury University. Dr. Friend, as his patients call him, earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky. GO BIG BLUE! To continue to deliver the highest quality service to his patients, Dr. Friend has taken hundreds of hours of continued education courses in advanced dental and surgical training. He is proud to offer exceptional care in the way of wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, root canal therapy, full mouth rehabilitation, and sedation. Dr. Blalock grew up on a beef cattle farm in Crossville, TN. The time he spent working on the farm taught Dr. Blalock valuable problem-solving skills and a good work ethic. After Dr. Blalock suffered a dental injury when a cow’s hoof contacted his teeth, his dentist repaired his smile and sparked a fascination for the art of dentistry. Because of that experience, Dr. Blalock realized his calling was to become a dentist. He loves that dental work gives him the ability to work creatively with his hands while interacting with patients and making a positive impact on their lives.

Dr. Blalock graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee Tech University with an undergraduate degree in health science biology. He went on to graduate with honors from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry

Does my insurance cover Invisalign clear aligner therapy?

If your dental insurance has orthodontic coverage, it will probably cover Invisalign clear aligner therapy. Some plans only cover a percentage of your orthodontics and will only pay once per person per lifetime of the plan. If you have any questions, give us a call and we’ll check with your insurance plan to determine your coverage and help you maximize your benefits.

How are Invisalign clear aligners made?

Invisalign aligners are made using a digital scan of your teeth. Once the scan is complete, a special computer program divides the desired movements into a series of steps, and each tray is made based on that step. Once each set of trays is made, they are trimmed, polished, and put in order before they are sent to our offices for us to give to you.

How do I care for my Invisalign clear aligners?

To keep your Invisalign aligners looking new, you should brush and floss your teeth after eating and rinse your trays well before you put them back in. This reduces the chance of food particles getting stuck in your trays. You should also take them out every time you eat because even though they’re strong, Invisalign trays can’t withstand your biting forces. Once a day, you should take your trays out and gently brush them with mild, non-abrasive toothpaste and a soft toothbrush.
